About the Area

Beechwood Shopping Center has been one of Athens' most enduring retail destinations since it first opened in the early 1960s. What began as a neighborhood grocery center has grown into a dynamic town center featuring more than two dozen stores and restaurants, including REI, Sephora, Kendra Scott, T.J. Maxx, The Fresh Market, Starbucks, First Watch, Ted's Montana Grill, and of course LOFT. Managed since 2019 by Athens-based Polias, the center has undergone significant reinvestment and redevelopment aimed at making Beechwood a true community hub, blending shopping, dining, and walkable outdoor spaces in a setting that reflects the character of Athens itself.

Athens, Georgia, known affectionately as "The Classic City," is home to the University of Georgia, the nation's first state-supported public university, and serves as the cultural and commercial center of northeast Georgia. With a population of nearly 130,000 and a metropolitan area exceeding 215,000, Athens is a city shaped by academic energy, a legendary music scene, and a deep sense of local pride. The Beechwood neighborhood, located about three miles from downtown and the UGA campus, is one of the city's most established residential communities, home to long-tenured families, healthcare workers, university staff, and a growing population of professionals who appreciate the area's convenience and character. LOFT at Beechwood is proud to serve this community with stylish, accessible women's fashion suited to the rhythms of everyday Athens life.
